Lord Nelson

Lord Nelson

Location: Stockholm
Title: Lord Nelson
Description: Stockholm's Lord Nelson hotel is the Bengtsson familys first hotel, perfectly situated on the Old Towns main pedestrian thoroughfare (Gamla Stan). The hotel is named after the great English naval hero Lord Nelson, who won the battle of Trafalgar against Napoleon. Here you can stay in a tall, narrow 17th century building that is reminiscent of an old ship. In the 17th century it was inhabited by a printer named Ignatius Mauer who, together with Göran Helsing, was responsible for printing Swedens Charles X version of the bible. You can see a copy for yourself, proudly displayed in the hotel lobby. With a width of barely five metres, the building on Västerlånggatan 22 is without a doubt Swedens narrowest hotel and probably the one that most resembles a ship. Memorabilia abounds, with a wonderful sense of the sea. All the items have been carefully collected over the years by the hotels owners. The gleam of brass and mahogany set the imagination alight. Every night, the porter makes his rounds and winds up the old grandfather clocks. Lord Nelson hotel also offers a small sauna, a library, a rooftop terrace and Wi-Fi internet connection available throughout the building to make your stay as pleasent as possible.
